The following are some of the questions we are asked most often by our guests. If you don't find the answer you were looking for here, the Tamaracks Resort is happy to answer any questions you may have about the resort, the Seeley Lake area, or planning you vacation. Are you right on the lake?
Yes, our resort is located on over 16 acres of lakefront property on the northeast shore of Seeley Lake. We have about 1600 feet of shoreline.
How big is Seeley Lake?
Seeley Lake is about 3 miles long and 1 mile wide.
How big is the town of Seeley Lake?
Seeley Lake has a population of about 2,500 and is a full-service town with a grocery store, gas stations, restaurants and shopping.
How far are you from the town?
The resort is located 2 miles north of the town of Seeley Lake.
How long does it take to get to Glacier National Park from the resort?
The drive to Glacier National Park is approximately 100 miles. It usually takes about 2 to 2 1/2 hours to make the drive to West Glacier, the west entrance to the park.
How far are you from the nearest large city?
Missoula, population 52,000 is the nearest large city. Missoula is located 56 miles southwest of Seeley Lake, the drive takes about 1 hour.
How far are you from the nearest airport?
The nearest airport is Missoula International Airport located in Missoula, Montana. Missoula International is serviced by Delta, United, Northwest, Horizon and Allegiant airlines.
Do you have a beach?
Yes, we have a sandy beach and a roped-off swimming area.
Do you have a boat launch?
Yes, we have a boat launch suitable for small to medium sized boats. The launch is not paved. The nearest paved boat launch is located at Big Larch Campground, about 1 mile south of the resort.
Do you have boat moorage?
Yes, we have a dock at which guests may park their boats on a first come, first served basis. There is no fee for the use of the boat dock.
Do you rent boats?
The resort rents canoes, rowboats, paddleboards, kayaks and trolling motors. If you are interested in renting larger equipment, such as waverunners or pontoon boats, there are rental services in Seeley Lake which will deliver this equipment to you here at the resort.
Do you have guest laundry facilities?
Yes, we have a coin-operated washer and dryer available for guest use.
Do you have a gift shop?
Yes, we have a gift shop at the resort with a unique selection of books, posters, clothing, antiques and much more. The gift shop also stocks small sundry items such as film, batteries, candy, etc.
When can we check in, and when do we have to check out?
Guests may check in to their cabins no earlier than 4:00 PM on the day of their arrival. Guests must check out of their cabins no later than 11:00 AM on the day of their departure. Late check outs will be charged for an additional day. Our office is open until 7:00 PM. If you will be arriving after the office closes, please let us know and we can make arrangements for late check-ins.

Do you allow pets?
We do allow pets upon management approval. If you and your pet(s) are staying in a cabin there is a $200 refundable pet deposit and a pet fee of $20 per pet per night. If you and your pet(s) are staying in an RV site, there is a pet fee of $10 per pet per night. All pets must be registered at check in. There is a maximum of two pets allowed in each cabin or campsite.

Do your cabins have kitchens?
All of our cabins have well-equipped kitchens.
Do you have fire pits and barbeques?
Each cabin has a fire pit, barbeque and picnic table. We also have campfire wood available for sale here at the resort.

Do you allow smoking in the cabins?
Montana State Law prohibits smoking in public facilities and we do not allow smoking in our cabins. We do provide ashtrays on the porches and decks of the cabins if you wish to smoke outside.

What is the weather like in the summer?
Our average summer temperatures are usually between 75 and 85 degrees during the day, dropping down to between 40 and 50 degrees at night. However, we advise you to come prepared, as the weather is very unpredictable here in the mountains.
What is the weather like in the winter?
Our average winter temperatures are usually between 10 and 30 degrees during the day, dropping down to between 0 and 20 degrees at night. Come prepared for very cold weather if you are vacationing here during the winter season as temperatures have been know to get down to -20 or below.
Does the lake freeze in the winter?
Yes, the lake usually freezes enough to walk and skate on by the beginning of January. We encourage you to use extreme caution whenever you are on the frozen lake. There are always areas near the inlet and outlet and near marshy areas where the ice may not be safe.
Do you rent snowmobiles?
No, but there are services in town that will deliver snowmobiles to you here at the resort.
How close are you to the snowmobile trailheads?
It is possible to access most of the snowmobile trailheads on snowmobile directly from the resort.
How close are you to the cross-country ski trailhead?
The Seeley Creek Nordic Ski Trail system is located about 3 miles from the resort.
How many people can your cabins accommodate?
The resort can accommodate a total of 88 people in our cabins.
How many beds do you have?
The resort has a total of 49 beds.
Do you have televisions in your cabins?
The majority of our cabins do have televisions with DVD or VCR players. We do not have cable or satellite service in the cabins. We do loan DVD's and VHS tapes at the office.
Do you have telephones in your cabins?
No, we do not have telephones in our cabins. There is a courtesy phone located at the office for guest use.
Do you have internet access?
Yes, we have wireless internet access throughout the resort which is free to our guests.
Is there a restaurant at the resort?
No, we do not have a restaurant on the property. There are a number of restaurants in Seeley Lake and in the surrounding area.
