Cross-Country Skiing and the Seeley Creek Nordic Ski Trails
The Seeley Creek Nordic Ski Trail System is a world-class trail system offers 18 kilometers of the West's best cross-country skiing. The trails are in glacially molded terrain just outside of the town of Seeley Lake and were designated professionally with the direction of the Seeley Lake Ranger District in an old timber sale area. The trails are rated from easy to difficult and are well marked and groomed. Near the trail head parking is a warming hut and bathrooms. Several winter events are held at the ski trails, but the most popular is the O.S.C.R (Over Seeley's Creeks and Ridges) nordic ski race.
Even if you don't make it to the ski trails, there are hundreds of other miles of ski-able terrain in the valley. The frozen lake is the perfect place for beginners to learn the basics of cross-country skiing - great for kids. You can also ski on any of the 300+ miles of groomed snowmobile trails in the area.
